Due to the closing of Sycamore Hills Golf Club, our coin auctions will be held at the KC Hall in Paris, IL.
This auction has a wide array of quality coins including a 1795 Bust dollar and a 1799 Bust dollar, several gold coins, lots of nice Morgan dollars, 1881CC and 1885CC GSA Morgan dollars, lots of interesting currency, and much more.
We are trying something new in this auction. We are integrating an absentee online catalog. This will allow our customers to leave prebids on lots with only 13% BP with a 3% discount for cash or check. This is different than bidding online with Proxibid. The absentee auction will end the day before the live auction. The high bids on each lot will be used as absentee bids during the live auction and bidders will pay the same BP as live floor bidders. To find the catalog, click on our auction calendar and click on Feb. 13 auction. There is a link to access the absentee catalog.
We are pleased to announced that we are moving our coin auctions to a new facility, the Sycamore Hills Golf Club in Paris, IL. I think we’ll be even more comfortable in the new location, which features a full service restaurant. If you like, check out their website at http://www.shgolfclub.com/home. The next coin auction is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 11 and as usual will be live and online with Proxibid. You could even come early and play 18 holes before the auction.
On Sept. 16, Thursday evening at 5:00 pm we’ll be auctioning a three bedroom, 1 bath rural home on a blacktop road outside of Grandview, IL. If you are looking for a place in a quiet, peaceful setting check out this home. Also in this sale is a 1080 Massey Ferguson tractor, furniture, appliances, and household items.
We have another great 900+ lot jewelry, coin, and currency auction coming up to kick off the fall season. As usual we’ll be live and online with Proxibid.com. We have gold coins–U.S. and foreign, US silver coins including Morgan dollars, commemoratives, mint & proof sets, and much more. Please join our e-mail list to receive updates on future auctions.
On July 15 we will be conducting Don Latham’s public auction. He is moving to town after living on the farm 47 years. All kinds of treasures are being unearthed among the barns and outbuildings. Click on the auction calendar to see pictures and a small list of items. We will be running two rings during the entire auction. Come and enjoy!
Cara said it couldn’t be done, but we were finished before nightfall! We started at 5:30 and in three hours, with the help of my good friend, auctioneer, Bill Beck, we sold 425 lots of personal property. With the economy the way it is, many bargain hunters were happy to come away with good, usable household items for their homes.
Can you believe the year is half over? It seems like the older I get, the faster time rolls by. Hope everyone has an enjoyable and safe 4th.
We are finding that with fewer people reading newspapers these days, our best advertising seems to be the Internet. We invite you to join our e-mail list so that you can find out about upcoming auctions. We only send out our auction notices–no other “junk”!
